Is the thought of all the activity leaving you exhausted? Well, why not kick back and watch the best of Kendal 2009 at the Lonsdale Alhambra cinema, Keswick on Sunday 17th May at 8pm? We have chosen three of the best of the best for exclusive viewing. They include
Trial and Error
Quite possibly the most impressive bit of mountain biking skill of all time. Ryan Leach rides an insane North Shore course in the forests of British Columbia as a statement against the loggers who have scheduled the area for clear cut. Produced and directed by Jamie Hussein. Best Short Film Kendal 2008
On Sight
is the fruition of an idea that many considered impossible: a film capturing the blood, sweat and mystery of onsight climbing as it happens. The result is a tense, profound, and often hilariously funny portrait of climbing’s most elusive realm. Produced and directed by Alastair Lee.
A Life in Adaptation
Andy Parkin is regarded as one of the world’s finest alpine climbers. In 1984 he suffered a near fatal climbing accident in the Alps. His slow rehabilitation involved painting and sculpting of the mountains that had so very nearly claimed his life. Produced by: Pip Piper & Dominic Green / Directed by: David Fair
This event is supported by the Lake District National Park Authority
