AKU have sponsored ALL three stages of the Derwentwater Circuit Challenge walks led by Wandering Aengus and Keswick Rambles. Anybody who joins these walks gets the chance to test out a pair of comfortable and lightweight AKU hiking boots on the challenging walk. And what’s more they can also enter the free prize draw to win a holiday to Italian Alps!
The holiday is in September 2009, 6 days/5 nights, 3 stars B&B accommodation in Livigno in the Italian Central Alps, at the border of Switzerland, nearly St.Moritz. Learn more on www.livigno.eu/en/home.jsp *Flights, travel and extras are not included.
AKU is the story of a typical Italian self made man – Galliano Bordin – the company founder and still a key decision maker in their continued development. Starting out as a small cobbler during the post war years – he quickly expanded – specialising in the production of cross country ski boots and simple trekking boots.
During the 30 years of trading they have progressed from their simple premises to impressive production plants – one in Italy and one in Romania – with over 200 employees. Today Aku is considered to be one of Europe’s leading brands in the outdoor market with technical, durable and innovative designs.
AKU have a stand on the Adventure Base throughout the festival, so pop along – Test drive your boots and enter the competition and you could be jet setting off to the Italian Alps! Or have a sneak preview of the boots at the George Fisher store in Keswick, who are supporting this event.
