‘Wild Swim:Derwent Island’ will take place on Sunday 23rd May starting at 9.30am. This one mile swim around Derwent Island starts from the shores of the Adventure Base and loops the Island. It is not a race, it’s about enjoyment (though you can swim as fast as you like). This is a great opportunity to experience outdoor swimming, go on a beautiful swim around Derwent Island and meet other swimmers. Places are limited. Sign up now!

Leo Houlding

Spend a day out with Leo Holding and listen to his adventurous tales while scrambling up Cam Crag Ridge.

The day will begin with a walk from Stonethwaite into the secluded valley of Langstrath, you will then ascend the base of the fell until it steepens at Woof Stones at the foot of Cam Crag Ridge where the scrambling begins. Participants use ice axes and wear mountaineering boots (but no crampons) and try and climb specifically set routes on the climbing wall. The axe is used in different ways to grip onto the hold and progress their way up / along the wall.
