Sponsored by the North Face

Jez Bragg
Twenty Seven year old Jez has been running competitively for only four years, but since making a winning debut as an ultra distance runner in The Marathon of Britain multi-stage race in 2004 he has gone on to establish himself as one of the best in the UK, both on the trails and the road. Jez has won the majority of the races he has taken part in the UK including many of the classic ultra distance trail races in the North of England and Scotland. In June 2006 Jez set a new record for The West Highland Way, the UK’s most-walked long distance path, knocking 42 minutes off the previous record to complete the 95 mile route in 15 hours 44minutes. In addition to the record for the full route, Jez also holds the course records for the two other West Highland Way based races covering the bottom and top halves.
In 2007 Jez also stamped his mark on the UK ultra distance road running scene by winning the UK 100km Championship in Edinburgh whilst competing for the England team in the annual anglo celtic plate race. Subsequently, in September 2007, Jez represented Great Britain in the combined 100km World & European Championships finishing in 18th and 10th places respectively.
Jez is based in the Midlands and juggles his training in the Shropshire hills and Peak District around his 4-day-a-week job as a construction project manager.
In his talk entitled in the Long Run Jez will speak of his experiences of running ultra distance races around the world, when and why he started running, highlights of his running career, his training and lifestyle and quest to inspire others.
