    New dates for Keswick Mountain Festival 2017

    New dates for Keswick Mountain Festival 2017

    Keswick Mountain Festival (KMF) today announces that the 2017 event will be held three weeks later than in previous years. The festival will run from 8-11 June, allowing KMF to continue its programme of expansion and growth. The move follows a very successful 2016 event, the biggest in the festival’s history, which saw an increase of 14% in visitors to the Festival Village on Crow Park in Keswick and contributed £1.8m to the local economy.

    Conservation Day boost to Keswick Mountain Festival

    The flood damaged landscapes around Keswick are set to receive some TLC at the Keswick Mountain Festival on Saturday 21st May thanks to conservation charity Friends of the Lake District who will be holding a mass-volunteering Fell Care Day as part of the Festival. Fell Care Project Officer Ruth Kirk said, “We are now into the 6th year of running our hugely popular Fell Care Days which bring people together from all ages and walks of life to take part in range of practical conservation activities. Keswick Mountain Festival were incredibly receptive to the idea of incorporating the event into their schedule as they recognise the value the stunning Lake District landscape has for providing outdoor fun and recreation.

    Mountainous effort to repair flood damage on Cat Bells

    One of the UK’s biggest outdoor festivals is pledging its support to the huge effort to repair one of the Lake District’s favourite fells. Keswick Mountain Festival and the National Trust have joined forces in a campaign to raise £25,000 for urgent work needed on Cat Bells on the Western Shore of Derwentwater in Keswick. The much-loved fell suffered extensive damage to its paths when Storm Desmond hit Cumbria last December.

    Details have been unveiled of this year’s live music line up for Keswick Mountain Festival (KMF). On Friday 20 and Saturday 21 May, a mixture of chart toppers, one of the world’s best loved tribute acts and local performers will take to the stage with the dramatic backdrop of Derwentwater and the Lake District fells. Lexus is once again proud sponsors of the Keswick Mountain Festival live music programme, presenting Björn Again as headliners on the Friday, while Scouting for Girls and Toploader lead the line-up for the Saturday.

    Keswick Mountain Festival (KMF) has added a new competitive edge to its sporting events for 2016. Running and triathlon clubs across the country will be able to test themselves against each other in the Keswick Mountain Festival Club Cup, with cash prizes on offer. Sponsored by Hi-Tec, KMF 2016 will run from Thursday 19 until Sunday 22 May, with all sporting events starting and finishing in the Festival Village on Crow Park.

    Fundraising at Keswick Mountain Festival contributes £15,000 to the relief effort in Nepal

    Relief efforts in Nepal will be boosted by donations of almost £15,000 after last weekend’s Keswick Mountain Festival (KMF). Following the recent earthquakes, organisers and exhibitors at the festival promoted a range of fundraising initiatives during the event to support the work of Community Action Nepal (CAN) and thousands of visitors put their hands in their pockets to contribute.
