Walking

Get Walking – Retrace Wainwright’s footsteps with experienced guides on the high fells of Blencathra, Scafell Pike, or Helvellyn. Or walk through the lowland valleys to find those hidden gems that only local knowledge can find.

Climb or Scramble – Try something new under expert tuition. Whether you are a novice or intermediate climber try some of the Lake Districts rock routes with an experienced instructor, or learn to scramble safely and tackle the Sharp Edge of Blencathra.

Triathlon

Be challenged by the Keswick Triathlon and other sporting events – Sign up for the Keswick Triathlon, or pick up the pace and have a go at the fell running race up Latrigg or join one of the Mountain Bike Trail Quest events.

Mountain Bikes for All – Visit the bike village and try out the latest bikes from Kona, Specialised and Trek. Join a skills group or take bike in bike orienteering with the family.

Climbing

Water Sports Activities that include a bit of a splash. Have a go at Ghyll scrambling, or try out dragon boat racing, Canadian canoeing or kayaking either as a taster or take your skills to the next level.

Talk, Talk - Visitors can also enjoy an exciting line up of talks from leading mountaineers and outdoor personalities. The line up in 2008 includes, Julia Bradbury, Andy Kirkpatrick, Sir Chris Bonington, Doug Scott, Mick Fowler, Dervla Murphy and many more.

Something different – How about trying Nordic Walking and let the poles take the strain or Try your hand at an old traditional skill – dry stone walling. Be prepared to handle dirty stones on this one!

Navigate - Acquire hill skills so you can confidently and safely stride out. Join a navigation course or GPS seminar. Learn traditional map and compass skills or take on the latest technology of digital mapping and GPS to safely enjoy the outdoors.

Participation Statement
Participants should appreciate that they take part in all activities at their own risk. All leaders are competent and experienced and will make every effort to endure that you enjoy your activities safely, but it should be appreciated that there is an inherent risk in taking part in any adventurous activity.

Cancellations Under certain weather conditions if, in the opinion of the leader your safety may be compromised, it may be necessary to cancel or alter an event. Events may also be cancelled if numbers are below the minimum required. The organisers accept no responsibility for such cancellations which are out of our control. However, where possible participants will be offered places on a suitable alternative event. Activity organisers reserve the right to charge all or part of the activity cost in the event of your withdrawal or non-attendance.
