Keswick and the surrounding area offers great mountain and road biking. There’s a variety of guided rides and biking activities to get involved in, simply spin on your road bike around the beautiful countryside or test your off road skills at the trail centre in Whinlatter. View Activities

Climb

For those that want to live a bit closer to the edge we have a selection of climbs and scrambles to increase your pulse rate. Try out your techniques on Keswick’s new Climbing Wall before putting them into practice on bare rock. View Activities

We’re putting together a variety of evening events that will give you the opportunity to experience the social and cultural delights of Keswick. There’ll be parties, pub quizzes, films, lectures and loads more! View Activities

Family Fun

This Festival is the perfect place for you and your family to try out new activities under the expert guidance of professionals.  It’s great if you’re keen on a particular sport and you want your family to get more involved.  Not only are there lots of activities you can book together but you can also spend some time at the Adventure Base where you can find out more about our family challenges and try out all the gear and equipment you may need. Hike

If you’re new to hill walking or you want to find some of those hidden gems off the beaten trails – then why not join one of the walking guides for a richer experience on the fells? They are sure to challenge you and not to disappoint. View Activities

Nature and Conservation

nature-large If you want to learn about the landscape and its history, or help to preserve it, we have local experts ready to pass on their knowledge.  You can take a fascinating tour around a local mine or view the rare Ospreys, there is something for everyone. View Activities

Navigation and Orienteering

Which way now? If you are a looking for some direction on the fells then a navigation and orienteering course will help to improve your skills. We’re organising a range of courses from half-days for beginners  to more in-depth weekend courses.  Watch this space to check out the courses at the festival.

Paddle around Derwentwater or try your hand at some river rapids all under the guidance of professional instructors.  There is something for everyone from sailing courses to a family day kayaking or picnicking on the lake shore.  However adventurous you want to be there will something for you.  Give it a go!

Speaker Programme

Prepared to be inspired, enthused and thoroughly entertained by this year’s line up of speakers!  We kick off the theatre programme on Wednesday with an evening of Lakeland Heroes, Thursday celebrates the best of mountain biking, an evening packed with speakers, short films, interviews and loads more.  On Friday and Saturday we have the cream of the climbing world-  including Sir Ranulph Fiennes, Leo Houlding, Andy Cave and Andy Kirkpatrick.

Sporting Events

Keswick MountIn Festival is home to some fantastic competitions and challenges. The triathlon is one of the best courses on the calender - if you’re new to the sport we have introduced a short version to start you off.  The Salomon Trail Race is a beautiful race around Catbells or for a short burst up Latrigg try out the Latrigg Fell Race. The Sportive will be taking in some of the passes in the Lake District and the mountain bike trailquest will spin round some great bridleways in the Keswick area. View Activities

Triathlon

Triathlon-large Everything TRIATHLON will feature in a new area at this year’s event. The full length Trihard Triathlon has once again sold out – this time in a record 2.5 days! So we have a shorter version for anyone new to the sport or if you missed out on the long triathlon entries. The maximum entries for this is 150 so book your place before they sell out. Enter now.
