Keswick Mountain Festival – Terms and Conditions

Activity Bookings
The Keswick Mountain Festival is set up as a booking service between the consumer and the activity provider, this website allows you to see all that is on offer during the festival and enables you to make bookings.  When you submit a booking, we will pass your name, and contact details to the supplier, once this transaction is made you are bound by their terms and conditions.

Activity bookings are contracts between you and the individual provider offering each activity. Each activity provider will have their own terms but we advise you to check with them if you have any questions. Please note: All activity providers are competent and experienced and will make every effort to ensure that you enjoy the activity safely, but it should be appreciated that there is a risk in taking part in any adventurous activity.

In the event that you need to cancel or alter your booking please contact the relevant activity provider directly. Activity providers reserve the right to charge all or part of the activity cost in the event of your withdrawal or non-attendance.

Any refunds of booking costs will be made by the Activity Provider and not through the online Google Checkout.

Google Checkout fees are non refundable.

Keswick Mountain Festival accepts no responsibility or liability for any loss or damage suffered by any visitor who has booked an activity on the website and subsequently participated in an activity. Participants should appreciate that they take part in all activities at their own risk.

Participants must be able to enter into a legally binding contract and be over 18 years to make a booking

All activity providers reserve the right to refuse to take a participant whom they consider will be unable to complete the planned activity.

Activity bookings are contracts between the participant and the individual provider offering each activity.

Under certain weather conditions if, in the opinion of the activity providers your safety may be compromised, it may be necessary to cancel or alter an activity.

Activities may also be cancelled if numbers are below the minimum required. The activity providers accept no responsibility for such cancellations, which are out of their control. However, where possible, participants will be offered places on a suitable alternative event.

Activity Providers reserve the right to charge all or part of the activity cost in the event of your withdrawal or non-attendance.

Lecture Theatre Ticket Sales

Lecture Theatre tickets entitle the holder to attend the Event listed and allow entry for the day/s and time/s stated. All ticket holders wishing to attend another lecture on a different day will be required to purchase additional ticket(s) and pay the advertised admission fee.

Tickets are in the form of an E Ticket that is sent when a ticket is booked. The E Ticket must be shown on arrival and a ticket will be issued at this point. The ticket office opening hours are specified on the E Ticket.

A ticket shall not be used for any alternative use (such as advertising, promotions, contests or sweepstakes), unless formal written permission is given by Keswick Mountain Festival.

There is no admission to the event without a ticket; it is the ticket holders responsibility to check their tickets; mistakes cannot always be rectified.

Lecture Theatre tickets are only refundable 30 days prior to the event, and a £2.50 Admin Fee will be levied to each booking cancellations.


Should any ticket be re-sold or transferred for profit or commercial gain by anyone other than the Organiser then it will become void and the holder may be refused entry or ejected from the venue. Unlawful resale of a ticket is grounds for seizure or cancellation of that ticket without refund or other compensation.

One person is admitted free of charge per wheelchair user or person whose disability necessitates a carer. The venue has a limited amount of wheelchair spaces.

Tickets are sold subject to The Keswick Mountain Festival’s right to alter or vary the programme due to events or circumstances beyond its reasonable control without being obliged to refund monies or exchange tickets.

The venue reserves the right to refuse admission/ remove any person should they breach any Rules and Regulations stipulated by The Keswick Mountain Festival. In the interests of security the organisers reserve the right to search handbags, rucksacks, parcels, luggage etc and also to institute personal body searches.

The sponsors and the organisers of The Keswick Mountain Festival can not and will not accept any financial or other responsibility for any loss or liability incurred as a result of:

  1. contracts entered into by visitors or those connected with them, with any exhibitor, or advice sought or obtained from any exhibitor; or,
  2. any damage to or loss of visitor’s property whilst at the Keswick Mountain Festival or,
  3. death or personal injury caused to any visitor whilst at the Keswick Mountain Festival howsoever caused unless (i) the relevant party has breached its legal obligations and (ii) such damage is a direct and reasonably foreseeable result of the breach.

For the avoidance of doubt; the Keswick Mountain Festival will not be responsible for the actions of any third party, including but not limited to, the exhibitors.

In the event of the complete cancellation of the Lecture Theatre at Keswick Mountain Festival, the organisers will only refund the face value of the booking admin fee per ticket. The Keswick Mountain Festival will use best endeavors to contact purchasers either by phone, email or in writing (using the details provided at the time of ordering) and advise them to return their tickets. Please note, however, it is the customer’s responsibility to check whether the event is going ahead at the scheduled date, time and venue, and the Keswick Mountain Festival cannot guarantee that they will inform the customer of any changes to the event date, time or venue.

All of these terms and conditions are governed by English Law and any disputes arising out of any transaction with The Keswick Mountain Festival are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.

Financial details
If you make an online booking using this website, you will be required to input payment details, including the details of your credit or debit card. This information will be treated in accordance with our Privacy Policy
