Open Day at Force Crag Mine


 

Located at the head of the Coledale Valley lies the last mineral mine to be worked in the Lake District. Take a guided tour from the mine through the processing mill with its complete collection of machinery. Get a close up view of how the minerals were separated from start to finish.

Access is on foot or by bike or take a lift with the National Trust transport which picks up at Noble Knott forestry commission car park, located half way up Whinlatter Pass from Braithwaite.
