Intermediate Navigation Course

Two day course for intermediate navigators. If you are happy with basic map reading, can follow a route along paths and tracks and would like to start to venture off the beaten track and find out what to do when the mist comes down then this is the course for you. It will enable you to develop sound navigation practice including planning routes. We will cover the use of navigational strategies such as 'attack points', 'aiming off', 'collecting features' and accurately following compass bearings. Topics also covered include access, weather and how to call out mountain rescue. Over 18s only.
