Join us for this unique canoeing experience on Derwent Water as we venture out across the quiet, evening waters. Then as dusk starts to fall we have a quick leg stretch stop, pop some glow sticks on our Buoyancy Aids and head back out into the dark! The glow sticks are a great safety aid, so we know where you all are and kids love them – like a flock of glow worms. Canoeing across the oily waters with only the moon and the stars to light our way is an amazing experience; but like moths to flame we’re drawn towards the fire awaiting us on the shore. So it’s a last push of effort and then time to sip on hot chocolate and toast some scrummy marshmallows and a roaring fire. Lovely. And as we start at 8pm you have plenty of time to have a full day out enjoying the festival and have had your tea…don’t have too much dessert though or you won’t have room for the marshmallows later!
