Outdoor Action Photography - shoot action like a pro

Many experienced photographers would like to be able to shoot action photos like the shots you see on outdoor magazine front covers and now with this new Outdoor Action Photography workshop you have the chance to learn directly from a seasoned professionl action photographer - Dave Willis of Mountain Sport Photography. Dave has been shooting professional outdoor action for 30 years, with hundreds of photo-shoots and front covers in mountaineering, rock climbing, mountain biking, fell running, skiing and snowboarding and all manner of water sports. If it moves, Dave has shot it - and now you can learn the tricks, techniques, planning and equipment needed to nail the action. The workshop will include how to photograph dynamic figures in the landscape, how to shoot pin-sharp fast action mountain biking, how to shoot runners with real impact and rock climbing with added drama. There will be an experienced outdoor sports-person on hand to act as a model and you'll have the chance to try a host of new techniques to bring your action photography to life. There's a lot more to it than you think and this is a great opportunity to see how it's done get a pro-shooter to guide you.

The workshop will be based from Bowderstone car park, in Borrowdale. The workshop will make use of a variety of locations and activities around the Bowderstone area. Rock climbing photography will be bouldering on the Bowderstone, mountain biking will be on an adjacent bridle-track. Bring snacks and drinks. Camera equipment should include a telephoto lens, a wide angle lens and a flash if you have one.

Your Tutor: Dave Willis is a professional outdoor photographer with over 25 years experience. He is well-known as one of the UK's leading outdoor action photographers and is also the visiting lecturer in photography at Kendal College (University of Cumbria). Dave has taught hundreds of students, both at college and on workshops in the Lake District and in Europe. Dave is also a qualified outdoor instructor and you can be sure you will be in safe hands!
