OSS Beginner Swim Clinic

Want to improve your technique for the outdoors? Whether you are set on swimming the Great North Swim and want a safe introduction to open water; need to improve your speed for a triathlon or endurance for long distance; or, want to change your technique and fitness to enjoy the freedom of wild swimming in lakes and rivers across Britain, join the Outdoor Swimming Society coaches for 75-minute classroom and technique sessions. The swim clinics will be run by Barry Jameson, Colin Hill, and Kate Rew. Barry is a local swim and tri coach who is also running the OSS swim fitness course in Ullswater over the summer. Colin is a keen wild swimmer, channel swimmer, two-way Windermere swimmer and the man behind the Great Swim Series. Kate is founder of the Outdoor Swimming Society and author of Wild Swim.
This class will particularly suit all those who are: new to open water; nervous of outdoor swimming; or, new to wild swimming. It will also suit those who haven't received any instruction on their stroke or get breathless after a short while doing crawl.
The classroom Q&A will cover any questions about outdoor swimming (e.g. where to find a swim, how to start), one-mile swim races and good technique. The water session will go over key basics to improving your stroke, including how to sight outdoors. Nervous swimmers and those new to outdoor swimming have a chance to try it out in a safe and supportive environment. And, you can do all this and still have fun.
