Chrissie Wellington OBE has a achieved many firsts in her sporting career including being the first British athlete to hold the Ironman World Championship title, and even more impressively was undefeated in all thirteen of her Ironman races. Chrissie also holds, or held, all three world and championship records relating to Ironman triathlon. Now retired from competing she is still very much a big part of the UK running network and works full time as Head of Participation for the ever popular parkrun, and was instrumental in developing the junior parkrun series.

The Theatre by the Lake has brought the magic of theatre and the excitement of the imagination to one of Britain’s loveliest and remotest counties. The theatre, hailed by The Independent as "the most beautifully located and friendly theatre in Britain", opened in 1999. It is set a short stroll from Derwentwater on the edge of Keswick and adjacent to the Festival Village.
