Your National Park – for you, for life
We are delighted to support the Keswick Mountain Festival. But when it ends, the fun still goes on! You can walk, cycle, climb and ride around the beautiful Lake District National Park to your heart’s content. And of course you can also get on the water on our lakes and coastline.

Routes for all: If you find walking a challenge or your party includes a wheelchair or buggy, our Miles without Stiles routes offer some great options. We’ve also ‘Great Walking and Cycling made easy’ routes which use public transport so you don’t have to retrace your steps.
Starting out?: Why not follow one of our volunteers on a guided walk? They’re usually free, you don’t need to worry about navigation and can learn from a knowledgeable local about the area. Pick from short, scenic picnic strolls to full days through the spectacular landscape.
Brush up your skills: We run Map and Compass Days to help improve navigation skills and Pathfinder days for 8 – 11 year olds, hunting for treasure using maps.
How to find out more: Pop into one of our Information Centres or take a virtual stroll round www.lakedistrict.gov.uk/visiting
