NAV4: Navigation for Runners

Sunday 17th May  | 10am – 3pm

A one day course for those wishing to gain and develop a full range of skills for safe and efficient off-road running.

Get to understand the basics of maps, master your compass, and get away from trails and marked routes.

With a big dose of navigation training, we’ll also look at a range of issues from clothing and equipment, route selection, techniques, trail and mountain running ethos, together with the all important safety and environmental issues.

Don’t panic about keeping up – this is not a physical training day! The course is conducted at a brisk walking pace with some jogging and maybe downhill running where appropriate. This course is ideal for those with some trail running experience and who wish to venture into more remote areas or tackle unmarked race routes, adventure races or mountain marathons.

The course runs on a 4:1 client tutor ratio, and places are limited.

Venue/Time: George Fishers shop in Keswick.  Times are 10am – 3pm.

Greener feed stations:

Disposable cups are a source of waste so we're keeping their use to a minimum. There will be no cups at the feed stations so please bring a re-usable foldable ‘soft cup’ or drinks bottle. You will need to carry this with you and use it on the course if you wish to use feed stations. Foldable soft cups will be available to buy in Sports Registration on the day if you need one.

You will enter the entrants details at checkout.
