Via Ferrata – Saturday

£45.00

Saturday 16th May  | 9:30am

Via Ferrata is Italian for the ‘Iron Road’. It’s origination is from when soldiers would use metal ladders, rungs and bridges to make their way across the Alps.

Right here in the Lake District we are lucky enough to have two Via Ferrata routes right on the rocky crags of Fleetwith Pike – which is also still an active slate mine! Kitted up with a helmet, harness and Via Ferrata lanyards, you will make your way around the course, clipping the safety wires and loops as you go.

If you are looking for something to give you and your friends that buzz, and want a truly memorable experience then why not join Lakeland Mountain Guides for one of their Via Ferrata experiences! This activity really is a perfect group activity. The Extreme course lasts about 4 hours and includes the traverse of an infinity bridge and a cargo net!

Each session has a maximum of 12 places. Private group experiences can be organised on other dates to suit.

Cost includes all technical equipment and a bunch of photos taken on the event. Age Limit & Suitability – participants must be older than 10 years of age and taller than 130cm. Participants must also not exceed 20st in weight regardless of fitness.

Greener feed stations:

Disposable cups are a source of waste so we're keeping their use to a minimum. There will be no cups at the feed stations so please bring a re-usable foldable ‘soft cup’ or drinks bottle. You will need to carry this with you and use it on the course if you wish to use feed stations. Foldable soft cups will be available to buy in Sports Registration on the day if you need one.

You will enter the entrants details at checkout.
