As well as entering my first Open Water Triathlon this year I have also decided to try my hand at trail running. I took part in my first event on Sunday at Grizedale Forest. People are always telling me how trail running is so much better for your body than road running! I beg to differ - On Sunday my body felt broken!
Saturday started off with a quick cycle round the Derwent water doing a recce for the Short Triathlon for a friend and also a warm up for myself before I went for a run. The cycle was a leisurely pace which was good as I was planning on doing a run afterwards. As we cycled round the lake I noticed the clouds were really low and i couldn’t help think to myself that my planned short lattrigg run might turn into a longer skiddaw run to get above the clouds.
When the KMF short tri flashed through my twitter feed one morning, I decided to stop wishing and start doing. 2015 is going to be my 'Year of Adventure' - so, what better time to take on my very first triathlon?!
This year I am challenging myself and have entered my first Open Water Triathlon in May 2015 - just 15 weeks away! Come and join me on my journey as I swim, cycle and run my way to the Keswick Mountain Festival Triathlon.
